Let It Snow - Another Snow Day, We love it!!!

We had another snow day and this time Daddy was home from work and Joey wasn't sleeping. The snow was too soft so we couldn't make a snowman, but Hailey was able to make a snow angel which she had been looking forward to. This year Joey really liked the snow. He was able to walk around on his own in his "snow" attire. He even climbed up on a mound of snow that was created by the snow plows and slid down head first.

Christmas 2008

This year, as always, we headed to Lolo and Lola's for Christmas Eve. Uncle Rodney came into town for the holiday. It took us so long to get to New Jersey due to traffic that we missed Church. Lola had prepared a grand feast which we were looking forward to especially since we were so hungry.

Christmas morning we woke up to find that Santa had left Hailey a pink scooter that she had asked him for and a 2 ft Mac Truck for Joey for him to play with with all his cars. Between all the toys these two received, I think we can open our very own toy store. That afternoon we went to Grandma and Grandpa's where the kids received even more toys. At the end of the day Hailey told me that she must have been a very good girl this year to deserve such great gifts. Thanks to All!!

Christmas Card - 2008

Originally I was going to take the kids to get professional shots done but then decided I would try and do it on my own. I knew that I would only get one shot at this, and I was right. After this shot was taken neither Hailey nor Joey wanted to cooperate any longer. I decided not to push and to take what I could get. I don't think it came out too bed. Right?!?!?

We also had to take a picture of the 4 of house for Grandma and Grandpa's Christmas Card.

A snowy day and a visit to see Santa.

Today I decided it was time to take the kids to visit with Santa Claus after we picked Hailey up from school. She was very excited and had been anticipating this for a few days now. So, when we woke up to find a blizzard outside there was no way I could tell her we had to wait another day.
I took the kids to Hicks Nursery where we walked through their Christmas display:
Afterwards we headed over to where Santa was sitting patiently waiting for us. Hailey ran over immediately and sat on his lap. Joey however was not at all entertained. He wanted no part of Santa and had no problem showing it. Santa did the best job he could trying to help me get at least one decent picture. Joey, had other ideas!!!

I was able to get one good picture of Hailey and Joey together. (of course, Santa was not in the picture)

Before leaving Hicks, we headed outside to see the Reindeer and check out all the snow.
Joey fell asleep in the car on the way home so after carrying him into the house and putting him to bed, Hailey and I headed outside for a a little snowy fun. Jake even joined in on the action.

NYC Marathon - For Patrick!!

This year Grandpa decided that it would be fun if Team JSR participated in the NYC Marathon. His cousin Patrick, who had run this marathon before, could not participate due to a head injury he sustained earlier in the year. So, in honor of Patrick, Team JSR gathered together to run, cheer, and show our support FOR PATRICK!!! (we even wore T-shirts).
This was also a "first" of many experiences that Hailey would have this day. The first time she was on a train, on a subway, and the first time she would spend an entire day traveling all throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan. We decided the night before that instead of torturing Joey by keeping him out in the cold and having him stay in one place for a period of time, that he would spend the day next door with Tito Florante, Tita Cheryl and Aidan. We had plenty of parent guilt, but knew this was the best decision. Sorry Joe, promise we'll make it up to you!!!
Grandpa, Uncle David and Cousin Annie were all taking part in this event and we were there to cheer them on. It was an amazing day filled with lots of love, lots of loud music, some good food, and great company. Congrats Team!!

A Snitch of a Birthday

Today we celebrated David Jr's birthday. There isn't much to post only to show you the magnificent cake that Aunt Trudy made for him.
The cake is a replica of the snitch from the Harry Potter series which someday I hope we all read together. HEE HEE

Halloween 2008 - The Justice League is Upon Us!!

Halloween started out a little bitter sweet this year. I had already planned to take the day off of work so that I could spend the day with you guys and I also found out that for the next couple of months I would be spending all my days with you guys. (I'll explain when your older).

The day started off with Hailey getting ready for school. Her class was invited to wear their costumes and attend the Halloween bash. Parents were invited to join the class for the first 1/2 hour which Joey and I did. All the kids looked great.

After school we followed our normal routine, nap time. When that was over we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's so that we can meet up with Uncle Chris, Aunt Michelle, Aunt Annemarie and Uncle Steve this way we could all trick or treat together. For the last few years your Dad has been trying to get all the kids to dress up as the Justice League. Well this year he got his wish and completly by accident. Here's how the League showed: Hailey - batgirl, Joey - superman, John - Batman, Collin - Robin, Kaityln - Wonderwoman. It was great!!! The kids had so much fun running from house to house which they all did on their own. Joey did great for a few blocks running with all the kids. Once he started to run into people's houses we decided he needed a rest for a bit. All in all a great day!!

First Field Trip - Hailey

Today, Hailey had her first official school field trip. The Child's Play 3 year old class went to Hicks Nursery to visit Otto the Ghost, feed some animals, enjoy a hay ride and of course pick some pumpkins. The kids were all so cute and this mom was exhausted when it was all over.
