Oh Hailey, Your So Silly!

Hailey: "Mommy, I was in your belly."
Me: "Oh yes you were. Who told you that?"
Hailey: "Daddy did."
Hailey: (pointing to my stomach) "I was in there?"
Me: "Yes, you were very tiny and in mommy's belly."
Hailey: "Not Joey."
Me: "Yes, Joey was in mommy's tummy too. Do you remember?"
Hailey: "No, not Joey. Joey was in Daddy's tummy"
Me: (laughing) "No he wasn't, he was in mommy's tummy too, just like you."
Hailey: "No mommy, Joey was in Daddy's tummy cause Joey is a boy like Daddy."
Me: (laughing)

H, J & NRB

Hailey and Joey got to play with Nathaniel today as Uncle Bob and Aunt Debbie came over to celebrate my birthday. Lolo, Lola and Uncle Ton joined us also. Here are some pictures I took of the kids playing with the bubble machine and then running under Uncle Bob's legs as if it were a tunnel:

Some New Friends

Tonight we set up a last minute "pizza night" with the Mirabella's and Verrett's. We were finally able to meet Dave and Laura's new baby girl Chloe and Billy and Tina's 3rd child Emily. Ava also joined us and she had a great time playing with Hailey and Joey. Joey was a little jealous anytime I would hold one of the other babies. He is becoming somewhat of a momma's boy lately. But this momma likes it :) Here are some pictures I took:

Calendar Girls, but only for their parents.

When Hailey was a little over a year old, Ron took the following picture which was dubbed Miss January:

Now we have Miss November:

Doesn't Adelina look great?!?!? I think we should start a calendar.

Kids say the funniest things!

Last night while Ron and I attended a spin class, H&J went next door to have some playtime with Aidan. This morning when I was driving the kids to Aunt Audrey's, Hailey and I had a conversation that made me giggle. It went something like this:

Hailey: "Mommy, I need a Dora suit case".

Me: (very perplexed and having no idea where this is coming from) "A suit case, where did you see a suit case?"

Hailey: "Aidan has a suit case!"

Me: "Aidan has a suit case?" (lightbulb finally turning on in my head) "What's on his suitcase?"

Hailey: "trains"

Me: "What does he put in the suit case?"

Hailey: "All his trains"

(pause for about 30 seconds)

Hailey: (all serious and looking straight at me) "Mommy, he really loves his trains!"

Me: (laughing) "I know!"

Needless to say that the conversation ended with me telling Hailey that the next time we were at the store, if she saw the Dora suit case we could get it to put her toys in. Aidan, i'm sending you the bill!

Easter 2008

The weather outside was gorgeous. The morning started off with Hailey and Joey waking up to find Easter baskets for both of them left by the Easter Bunny himself. The Easter Bunny also hid some plastic eggs with money in them all around the house which the kids loved to find and then put the money in their piggie banks.

This year I was determined to get a picture of H&J together as last year I was unsuccessful:
He would only sit there for 2 seconds but my "little man" did sit long enough for me to take this shot.

Later on that afternoon Hailey was able to spend some time outside with Aidan while waiting for her cousins to arrive. We were 22 people total and thanks to Grandma, Aunt Audrey and Aunt Tracy the food was yummy. Following dinner 32 eggs, 10 of which we had decorated the night before, were hidden all over the house in anticipation of our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Hailey was so excited anytime she would find one. After finding two she was ecstatic:

Joey liked watching all the kids run around.

The night slowly came to an end as we captured one more photo of all the kids after the hunt was over:

E.R. Trips!

For 2 kids ages 3 and 1 we have been to the E.R. more times then most parents would like. At 3 months old Hailey had her first visit. She was running a high fever so we had her checked out and found that she had pneumonia. Luckily, she was in good enough spirits that they let us take her home that night. Again at 6 months old, father's day weekend, Hailey had her first "flare" which we were not aware of at the time. This visit had her spending the night as the doctor's first thought she had scorned skin sydrome. Later we found out this was par for the course when dealing with "Mr. Masto". From here on out we were able to deal with the flares on our own. Joey had his first visit to the E.R. when he first had his first weezing attack. The doctor sent us over so that Joey could get nebulized. After that we have been able to nebulize him at home whenever needed.

Yesturday was another trip to the E.R. for Hailey. The night before Hailey and Joey were running around playing when they collided and bumped heads. Joey was okay, thank god, and ended up adding to the bumps he already has. Hailey on the other hand was given a nice lump that continued to bleed throughout the course of the night and into the next morning. When the blood wouldn't stop we took her over to the E.R. to get checked out and make sure that she wasn't anemic. All tests results came back good and we were sent home with Hailey having a nice patch on her forehead. Luckily, Hailey is a strong girl who takes everything in stride. She sat there and answered all the doctor's questions and did the best she could while they were taking her blood. Hopefully this will be the last trip to the E.R. for a long time if ever.

Lakehouse Weekend

We headed upstate to the lakehouse again this weekend for some good relaxing fun. Joey sported a nice shiner on his eye as the day before he decided he wanted to take a tuble into his tox box. Also over the course of the weekend he and Andrew bumped heads very badly and he also has a huge bump on his forehead. I must say he looks very cute with bruises but we are definitly going to have to get this boy a helmet until he learns to use his hands to break his falls. We also had a break-thru in potty training. Yesturday before we left to come home Hailey told me that she had to go "potty". We ran and sure enough she went. I was so proud that she told me that she had to go. Hopefully she'll continue this great progress. Here are some great pics courtesy of Aunt Kristine:

Awwwww!!!!!!!

The babies.

Even Jake got in on the fun!

Check out that shiner!!!!

Aunt Annemarie is happy she can finally get Kaitlyn's hair in pig tales.

If Joey is the "monster", here is his assistant.

A little time outside. It was very chilly but it didn't bother these two as they got some air while Mom was out running with Grandpa, Grandma and cousin Nicole.

Aunt Danielle is home on spring break.

Messing around with cousin Richie.

Potty Training and Play Dough

This weekend was a little busy for us Baccaray's. Friday, H&J spent the night next door playing with Aidan while Ron and I attended David Jr's play at Chaminade. The play was Anything Goes and David was the cutest sailor there.

Saturday we spent the day in Jersey City with Lolo and company. The kids had fun and Lolo and Lola got to enjoy the day with the grandchildren including Nate who is walking around like crazy and starting to play with his cousins.

Sunday consisted of the usual laundry, cleaning and Bencivenga family dinner. Potty training is still not going as well as I would like. When I ask Hailey why she won't go on the potty, she tells me "I don't want to". Well, how can i argue with that? She does go on the potty if I catch her in time but she still has not started to tell me when she has to go. Joey on the other hand continues to be a monster. After disappearing on Aunt Audrey this week where she finally found him in her boiler closet, he proceeded to eat some play dough and give his mother a heart attack. My wish for him, someday I hope he has a son just like him. Mommy loves you Joe!

Andrew turns 3!

Andrew turned 3 this weekend and we all celebrated with a Mickey themed party at the Alves house. This will be our last family party at this house as the Alves clan gets ready to move to Florida. The kids had fun playing upstairs in Andrew's room while all the adults gathered downstairs. Happy Birthday Buddy!

On Sunday, we had lunch at the Alves house again so that we could bid a fond farewell and good luck to Uncle Abel. He left for Florida in order to start his new job with the Police Department in Florida. This will definitly be an adjustment for all of us but we see many trips to Florida in our future.
