Lets Go To The Movies!!!!

In recent weeks Ron and I have been talking about taking Hailey to see the Disney Pixar film Wall-E as her first movie theatre experience since she has proven to be able to sit through an entire movie at home. So when Florante & Cheryl invited us to join them on Saturday we jumped at the chance to share this first experience with them. Hailey was so excited to go to the movies with Aidan. We allowed her to live it up with popcorn, soda and her own chocolate candy. She sat in the seat and continually looked around in amazement at the big screen. Unfortunatley Wall-E did not prove to be as an exciting movie as we had thought and Hailey fell asleep on my lap about 1/2 hour into the movie. Oh Well, I guess next time we'll have to pick a better flick but at least we can remember this momentus occassion.

Kiddie Update

Potty training has started again for Hailey, this time we are going full steam ahead and she is doing great. She has even begun to tell us when she has to go which is much better then the last time we tried this. My secret this round: bribery!!! Hershey Kisses go a long way.

Joey has figured out how to climb out of the porta crib and as much as I tell him "NO" he still continues to climb in and out. I am already having agita even thinking about having to put him in a big bed. Luckily he hasn't figured out how to climb out of his crib at home yet. He's doing a little better as far as eating table food goes but we have to be really stern and make him sit longer then he would like.

Fishing with Lolo

As I previously posted, Hailey enjoyed her first fishing experience with her Lolo Father's Day weekend at Sleepy Hollow Lake. Here are some more pictures:

Father's Day 08' - "Mommy why does it look like a spider?"

Sticking to our annual tradition we headed up to Sleepy Hollow Lake for some good father's day love with the entire Baccaray clan sans Uncle Rodney who couldn't make it home this year. Lolo was very happy and appreciative that we were all able to get together. The food was amazing as Lola, Tito Ton Ton & Tita Marianne prepared everything from a traditional filipino breakfast (longanesa, garlic rice, eggs etc), to lunch and dinner filled with marianted steaks, filipino barbequa and lobsters. While Ron was cutting into one of his lobsters Hailey was curious as to what Dad was eating. She turned to me and said "mommy, why does it look like a spider?" to which Ron and I laughed. We asked her if she wanted to taste it but she regretfully declined. "Maybe when i'm bigger" was her answer.

Hailey did however enjoy her very first fishing experience with Lolo. She caught 5 fish and was so excited to show them off and tell everyone. Joey and Nathaniel had a great time too. Joey has no fear when it comes to most things. He had a great time jumping in and out of the baby pool that we had set up for the kids. He would have even jumped right into the lake if Ron wasn't there to catch him. Joey was hysterically laughing watching Uncle Bob jump off the dock into the lake. Unfortunately, Nathaniel didn't like this as much as every time his Dad would jump into the lake he would start to cry.

We returned home Sunday morning to rest for a little bit and then headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for Father's Day dinner with everyone including Nonna, Aunt Trudy, Uncle David and the Mammina clan. It was a great weekend for everyone especially the Dad's. Happy Father's Day!!!

A Day with the Ellis kids & A Birthday Celebration!!

Mom was off from work today in observation of the Jewish Holiday so we made plans to go out East to visit my friend Phyllis and her two kids Olivia and Andrew. The kids had a great time together splashing around in the pool, driving in the battery operated Jeep, and playing on the swing set. Hailey and Olivia had fun being pirates and pretending that the cabin of the swing set was their boat. They even saved Ariel the mermaid!! It was really cute.

We returned home to prepare dinner for Grandma as it was her birthday. The Bencivenga clan was there to help us celebrate. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Curly Hailey!!!

When I was pregnant with Hailey I would talk to her and say two things: 1) Sleep like your Mommy and 2) have hair like your Daddy. (I wanted her to have nice black, shiny, straight hair). Well, one of my wishes came true in that Hailey definitily sleeps like her Mommy. However, #2 did not, see below:

I took this picture of Hailey after she had gotten out of the pool. I could not get over how curly her hair looked and wanted to capture this so that one day I can show her a picture of me when I was her age so that she knows her curly hair came from me. Sorry Kiddo!!!!

Note to Hailey: Hopefully you won't have as much hair as me. There's still hope :)

Our First Summer Weekend of 2008

This weekend was our first official "summer" weekend. And by that I mean, we hit the pool. On Saturday we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's to help them open their pool so that we can enjoy it through the hot days of summer. Since the pool wasn't swim-able Grandma set up the kiddie pool for you guys and you had a ball. Joey would run and slide in head first, while Hailey enjoyed having one of the pools all to herself. Kaitlyn joined in on the fun too.

On Sunday we headed out east to Uncle Richie's house for some pool fun and dinner. It was a gorgeous day outside and the two of you loved the pool. Hailey took off right away swimming on her own wearing her swimmies. Joey took a little bit of time getting used to the swimmies and learning how to kick his feet. By the end of the day he was getting the knack. Unfortunatley our pool time was interrupted by a storm, but at least we got to spend some time outside. (pictures courtesy of Grandpa)

Kiddie Vacation!!

While Dad and I were away in Lake Tahoe you guys went and spent the weekend in Jersey City with Lolo and Lola. From what we have been told you both behaved excellently and had a great time. Dad and I truly missed you as this was the longest we have ever been away from the two of you. We called 2x's a day and Hailey would give us daily reports about going to the mall, fun zone, riding the rides and going to the park. Below are some pictures courtesy of Lolo:

Mom and Dad in Lake Tahoe

This weekend Dad, Grandpa, Uncle David and Fil along with the Team in Training cycle team headed for Lake Tahoe, Nevada to take part in their annual century ride. Lake Tahoe was breath taking as you can see from the picture below. Since this was an "adults only" weekend, trust me you guys would have been bored, you enjoyed your own vacation spending the weekend at Lolo's.

The century ride was an all day event with climbs up the moutain in areas up to 8 miles long. The boys did great and I was so proud of Dad for his accomplishment. Here are some pictures we took:
