Orley's Tree House

Ron and I took the kids today to Orley's Tree House in Westbury to celebrate Kayla Arbas' 2nd Birthday. We had never been to Orley's before and the kids had a great time. Hailey enjoyed running around and playing with all the kids especially Aidan. These two seem to become inseperable whenever they are together. Joey had fun too. At first he was a little grumpy because it was his nap time, but after a few minutes he was up and about running around and being the "monster" we love. We also got to spend some time with Nathaniel and see him walking for the first time. Happy Birthday Kayla!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!

Today we woke up to our first major snow storm of the season. To look outside and see all the snow was awesome! The day continued to be great as I got a phone call that Hailey's school was closed and so was my office. Ron then found out that he was able to work from home. So, officially we had a SNOW DAY!

She may not look a lot like me but she is definitly her mother's daughter. Hailey too was so excited about the snow that at 8:30 am we were outside playing and running around. Here are some fun pictures of our day:

Aidan was outside also as he was waiting for his parents before heading off to school.

After being outside for over an hour we went back in to warm up. I was able to straighten up the house and even take a little nap before heading outside again. This time Hailey and I made our first official snowman:
After practicing her snow angels on our living room carpet, Hailey was finally able to do it in the snow for real:
And finally, Hailey enjoyed climbing and sliding up and down on the big mound of snow created by the plows. Aidan returned home from school and the kids got to play a little bit longer. I wish snow days happened more often. Does that make me strange?

A Fun Zone Party!

Yesturday the kids and I attended John's 3rd birthday party which was held at Fun Zone. The party started with the kids going on several rides followed by some pizza and cake and then off to playing some more games. They had a great time. Here are some pics:

Weekend at the Lakehouse

We took advantage of the 3 day weekend and headed upstate for some fun, relaxation and some "snow time", which is always my favorite. Here are some pictures:

Joey was in true "monster" form as the snow/ice didn't scare him in the least. He even enjoyed sliding down using his body more then he did the tubes.

Hailey loved being oustide in the snow. Wonder where she gets that from ?!?!?!

Aunt Annemarie and Hailey getting ready to take another slide down the hill.

We even had fun indoors:

Joey playing his first game of foosball. He loved it!

Uncle Ron and his "girlfriend"

Joey taking some time to rest and nuggling with Aunt Kristine, which she loved!

Kaitlyn and Uncle Steve

Cousins Eric, Stephanie and Brooke even joined us for a few days.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Today was Grandpa's 52nd birthday and we celebrated with him at the house with dinner and our tradtional chocolate cake. Due to a snow storm outside, Aunt Annemarie got stuck at work and so the Federlein's were unable to join us. Hailey and Andrew helped Grandpa by carrying in his cake, singing happy birthday, blowing out the candles, and then cutting the cake. Hey, whose birthday was it? Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Whose Fault is it?!?!?

So, as we all know Joey is a typical little boy. He jumps, he runs, he climbs, and sometimes he will touch things he is not suppose to. Its those times when things get broken that raise a question. Whose fault is it? If he were at home and broke something because maybe I wasn't paying enough attention is it, my fault or his? The same goes for when he is not at home and in the care of others. This seems to be an ongoing battle between myself and Grandpa. Yesturday I arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's and noticed the chair sitting in the corner. One of the posts from the back of the chair was missing and there was a post it on the top that said "Joey was here". When I walked in I pointed to the chair cause I was confused, Was the "Joey" my son or my father. My father looked up and pointed at my son. Sooooo, needless to say it had appeared that Joey had broken the chair. My first question to my father was, "Well, where were you when he was playing with the chair". My dad looked at me and said (jokingly of course), you owe me $150. We both chuckled as this is not the first time Joey has broken something over there and my bill seems to be going up more and more each time. So the question remains...Is it Joey's fault or is it Grandpa's fault for not watching him closely enough? Hmmmm!

P.S..Note to Grandpa - I know it was actually Adelina who broke the chair and not Joey!

They bought me a bike?!?!?!?

Well kids, he said it probably wouldn't happen. I believe that I even said that I would be more likely to do an Iron Man before he would do this (I was joking of course). But, it has happened. Your Dad has been hit, or should I say very nicely pushed, with the bug.

For the last few months Grandpa and Uncle David have been urging your father to bike a century ride with them. This is a 100 mile bike ride and there are 2 running events throughout the year that they take part in. The first is the Montauk Century ride which is here on Long Island and the second is a ride in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It was at Bencivenga Christmas that this idea became a reality for your Dad when after all the gifts were opened Grandpa and Uncle David presented your father with his very own racing bike. Now, I wish I got a picture of his face, and even so my face, because to say we were shocked, stunned, scared is an understatement. After letting the idea soak in, your Dad has embraced the idea of riding for 100 miles and has begun his training. He will join Grandpa and Uncle David this year for the Montauk ride and then hopefully Tahoe. Its going to be great watching your Dad do his thing and he is going to be great at it. Go Daddy Go, I can see it now!

Potty Update

I know that someday she will hate me for posting this picture but it is so funny that I could not put it up. This is how potty training is going with Hailey. Basically, its not! She would rather sit there, relax, and read her book. Oh, and trust me she will sit there for about 10+ minutes and still not go. Can kids go to college wearing diapers?
